The financial crisis that started initially in the United States has already taken its toll worldwide, particularly in countries which are connected or dependent on the US economy. The global financial meltdown has already affected the livelihoods of the majority.

In the Philippines, massive cutbacks in resources particularly in production as well as in employment are being made as a consequence, in order to address the effects brought about by the said crisis. There has been a slowdown in overseas deployment as well as a decrease in remittances from overseas workers.

To further understand the situation and in order to reconcile with what is currently known based on information being widely disseminated by the media and other sources, the UP SOLAIR Student Council invites you to attend the Symposium on “Global Recession and the Philippine Industrial Relations” on the 21st of February (Saturday), 8:00 AM -12:00 NN at the Bonifacio Hall (SOLAIR) Auditorium.
